We are proud to share that one of our recent residential projects has been featured in Asun Magazine No. 53 (1/2026).
Located in the heart of Helsinki, this apartment was originally designed by renowned Finnish architect and designer Ilmari Tapiovaara. With its rich architectural heritage and carefully preserved character, the project presented a unique opportunity to create a respectful dialogue between past and present.
The brief was to expand the home while remaining true to its original spirit. Rather than introducing a contrasting addition, the goal was to create spaces that feel naturally connected to the existing apartment. The extension forms a private suite for the homeowners, inspired by the calm atmosphere of boutique hotels and the timeless qualities of Nordic modernism.
Every material and detail was carefully considered in relation to the apartment’s history. Oak ceilings, textured wall surfaces, custom-made joinery, brass accents, and tactile textiles create a refined and cohesive interior language that complements the original architecture.
Projects like this remind us that great design is often about understanding what already exists and building upon it with sensitivity and purpose. The result is a home that feels both contemporary and timeless, while honoring the legacy of one of Finland’s most celebrated designers.
We are grateful to Asun Magazine for capturing the spirit of the project so beautifully.
