A secluded retreat where the raw beauty of Lapland meets contemporary Nordic architecture.

Set within the forests of Finnish Lapland, North Resort is conceived as a destination deeply rooted in its surroundings. Opening towards Lake Miekojärvi and the fell landscape beyond, the resort becomes part of the landscape, offering guests an intimate connection with northern nature. The project reinterperts traditional Lapland building culture through contemporary timber architecture. Northern typologies such as the aitta, kota and laavu inspire buildings that settle quietly into the tarrain combining familiar forms with a contemporary expression.

Luxury is found in the space to breathe.

The accommodation is designed around views of nature, natural light and a sense of quiet. Expansive windows blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors, bringing the forest, snow and the movement of the northern lights into the guest experience.

Soft natural materials, warm timber and a calm colour palette create a refined yet understated atmosphere that encourages rest and presence. Each room becomes a sheltered retreat within the northern landscape, almost like a framed view where architecture and nature meet.

The restaurant and sauna introduce a warmer and more intimate expression. Dark timber, stone and warm copper tones create depth and tactility, complemented by a colour palette drawn from autumn foliage, heather, lichen and frost. The result is a refined yet grounded atmosphere, translating the richness and changing seasons of the northern landscape into the interiors.

Bringing together accommodation, dining, wellness and outdoor experiences, North Resort is envisioned as a destination in its own right, a place where architecture frames the silence, seasons and wilderness of the North.
